Li Bin meets with health ministers of Brunei and Mongolia

Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), met with Zulkarnain Bin Hanafi, Bruneian health minister and Ayush Tsogtsetseg, Mongolian health minister at a Belt and Road High Level Meeting for Health Cooperation on August 18.

Li said that China and Brunei are increasingly furthering their cooperation.

"The Beijing Communiqué jointly released by participating countries has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation under the frame of the Belt and Road Initiative," Li said, going on to suggest that China and Brunei could renew health cooperation programs through multilateral and bilateral channels in order to push forward their work in health and cultural exchange, staff training, e-health and medical education and research.

Zulkarnain agreed with Li's suggestion and hoped that the two countries will further cooperation to improve health conditions for their peoples.

Speaking of Mongolia, Li said "China and Mongolia are important neighbors, with close cooperation in economic trade and staff training." 

Li said she expects strengthened cooperation in contagious disease prevention and control, traditional medicine, community-level health care, personnel training and medical insurance.

Ayush Tsogtsetseg applauded Li's remarks. The two countries signed the 2017-2021 Sino-Mongolian Health Cooperation Plan after the meeting.
