Vice minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission


Wu Zhen, male and ethnic Han, was born in May 1958 in Jiangxi province's Nanfeng. Wu began work in August 1975 and is a member of Communist Party of China. He holds a master's degree. 


Wu has been an official with the Jiangxi health department's medical education and technology division; deputy director and director of Jiangxi health department's medicine policy management division; deputy head and deputy secretary of the leading Party group with the Jiangxi drug administration; director general and secretary of the leading Party group with the Jiangxi drug administration; and director general and secretary of the leading Party group with the Jiangxi food and drug administration. 


September 2006: deputy director general and member of the leading Party group with the State Food and Drug Administration. 


August 2007-June 2011: secretary-general of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission. 


April 2013: member of the leading Party group with the State Food and Drug Administration; food and drug safety supervisor. 


July 2013: deputy director general and member of the leading Party group with the State Food and Drug Administration.


August 2015: vice minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
